Jesper wins Australian Formula Series Event
Escaping the colder weather in Scandinavia I decided to migrate down under and spend summer in some warmer weather. Not only is it warmer its windy every day and it’s great for windsurfing. The 2nd event of the year was held south of Sydney in Jervis bay and the place is great for windsurfing. A big piece of water with challenging conditions, whales and sharks – yep that’s Australia for ya! We had 2 days and 30 people signed up to compete. Some where on the new 2012 boards and there is certainly a big improvement on the boards for the coming season. Next big question is what’s going to happen on the sails for 2012.
After 6 races and winning all of them over the 2 days – it was time to head home to Sydney and watch the Rugby semifinal between the Wallabies and the All Blacks – what a game that was, just another perfect weekend of sailing in Australia. I was using my 12 North Formula throughout the event and was having a pretty good lead to the people behind. Next stop Geraldton for some wave sailing and then a competition in Japan waits in the beginning of November.
