Gunnar (North) takes second place at the DWC Norderney!!
The Dwc Surfers were welcomed by a fantastic weather and a lightly breeze on the German island of Norderney. The event was organized perfectly and there was a lot to so see for visitors as though for challengers.
The challenge included 4 racings and one slalom. Local Bernd Flessner (F2 / Neil Pryde) won shortly in both disciplines before contestant Gunnar Amussen (F2 / North Sails ) and Helge Wilkens ( Starboard / Gun).A very good performance was also shown by north teamrider Fabian Mattes placed on a overall 6 position.
Gunnar Asmussen, who had a comeback after a long period of time, was contented by the results of the EWE TEL Windsurf Cup.
Gunnar Asmussen: „After being on the 4.th position of the Fehmarn cup, I was able to make it up to the 2 position over here. Those races are a good prearrangement for the DM on the Sylt island. I will try to affect and to be the best I can. I am sure that for example Mr. Flessner is very strong but I try to beat him.“
The Dwc tour will continue from the 05/30-06/01/2008 in Dranske/Ruegen.(Germany)
