EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS

For 2012 Kai Hopf together with the NorthSails R&D team has set up a specialized Racing Sail Development Programme - with the final goal of developing the best performing racing sail out there. So they did. Successfully! The new WARP F2012 not only convinces by its super performance but turned out to be the lightest sail among equals.

The WARP comes with 7 battens, NorthSails exclusive HYPER.CAMS and the proven INDEPENDENT.SHAPING.CONCEPT, allowing a much faster acceleration after shifting. Test and racing results have proven right the experience of sail designer Kai Hopf and his R&D team.

The NorthSails Racing Team has been stoked by the performance of the WARP F2012 exceeding all expectations! 2012 Racing Results have confirmed the developers:

FULL PERFORMANCE

The modified luff curve is 100% tuned around the new construction of the NorthSails PLATINUM mast. Talking about mast development: due to the extreme luff curve in the lower part of the sail (which results in massive pre-loading of the mast), todays Formula sails demand particularly adjusted and super-durable mast constructions. For that over the last 18 months we have developed a new reinforced PLATINUM mast featuring our brand-new D4.SHIELD in the base making it super durable.

It seems that finally there exists a mast now that is able to cope with the high demands of today’s formula sails. Furthermore the Formula R&D team has designed a newmonocoque PLATINUM 240 boom. Being the stiffest, yet lightest boom on the market. The new PLATINUM 240 sets new standards for Formula racing and completes NorthSails’ ultimate formula rig package.
