The ultimate NoCam performance sail, whose relatively high sail foil tension guarantees maximum performance even without camber support. Compared to the previous model, it has improved planning without compromising any control when getting over-powered. This makes it even more versatile, since it combines spontaneous performance delivery with top speed, also offering the handling and rigging advantages of NoCam sails. This translates into enormous thrust AND the particular ease of a NoCam sail for relaxed manoeuvres.
The X_TYPE draws its potential from HYPER.LEECH II and TT.TOP II, which ensure a more active twist. In addition, it features a slightly lower profile for more power from underneath, and a pressure point further at the front.
This facilitates rig control and steering, and significantly contributes to what is unusually high pressure point stability for a NoCam sail. Thanks to the PROGRESSIVE.BATTEN.CONFIGURATION, all X_TYPE models possess a number of battens relevant to size and application, and Kai Hopf fits sizes 6.0 and 5.4 with only 6 battens.
This helps reduce weight and improves handling. In sails starting at 6.6m2, the rig’s agility reaps a huge benefit from the new CUTAWAY.CLEW outhaul, which allows for the use of a shorter boom while minimizing the rotation forces of the X_TYPE. By the way, all the new X_TYPE can be used with a single 460 mast - one mast fits all!
