Astrid:"I drove up to the north of France with a favourable weather forecast for waves. The wind is supposed to blow the whole week, with good waves conditions on Thursday.
The ocean gives its best, but me took I prepare my two smallest sails the North Ice 3,4m” and 3,7m” along with my new Fanatic Board Wave Twin 72 litres. Everything just perfect with the weather forecast being very optimistic for all day long.
A big swell is hitting the coast in Wissant and is pushing in some nice sets which reach up almost to the top of my mast in more than 40 knots (on side-on shore).
Alice Arutkin and Fanny Aubet are serious competitors and every heat was a pleasure for me. To see their rotations in such strong conditions motivated me even more ; and victory gives me most satisfaction and happyness.
After starboard tack conditions in Almanarre and solid port-tack conditions in Wimereux/Wissant, I get the French Wave Champion Title 2009 of which I am very proud of.
I would like to thank everyone who supports me, because you all helped me to get this title."
